OVERALL RECORD: 31-7-6
PLAYOFF RECORD: 7-0-0
No. 16 White Plains at No. 1 North Rockland, 10:30 a.m
Pick: North Rockland 3-0. The Red Raiders are the No. 1 seed for a reason.
No. 9 Port Chester at No. 8 Mamaroneck, 2 p.m.
Pick: Mamaroneck, 2-1. Just like the seeds indicate, this should be the best game in Class AA in the first round. The Tigers have gotten some quality wins down the stretch.
No. 12 Yorktown at No. 5 Mahopac, 2 p.m
Pick: Mahopac, 3-1. The Indians put together quite a run down the stretch. They’re probably even better than their No. 5 seed.
No. 13 Ossining at No. 4 John Jay-East Fishkill, 3 p.m
Pick: John Jay-East Fishkill, 2-0. Patriots have face tough competition all season and still managed a four seed. With all eyes on Arlington, the reigning section champions, it’s almost as if John Jay comes into the playoffs somewhat under the radar as that other Dutchess team.
No. 14 Ketcham at No. 3 Horace Greeley, 2 p.m
Pick: Horace Greeley, 2-0. For the most part, one of the more consistent teams in Class AA. Quakers are a good bet to make a deep run.
No. 11 Ursuline at No. 6 Scarsdale, 2 p.m.
Pick: Scarsdale, 3-1. It’s kind of scary that the Raiders are a sixth seed. Lots of talent up front.
No. 10 Suffern at No. 7 Arlington, 3:30 p.m
Pick: Arlington, 2-0. Regardless of what seed it was given, this is still Arlington. Tough to pick against a powerhouse this early on.
No. 15 Clarkstown North at No. 2 Clarkstown South, 9 a.m.
Pick: Clarkstown South, 3-0. The fact it’s a rivalry game does add another dimension to this one. Still, the Vikings have too much talent to go down this early.
No. 16 John Jay at No. 1 Byram Hills, 3 p.m.
Pick: Byram Hills, 3-1. Not the easiest first-round game for a top seed as the Indians are, I believe, better than a 16 seed, but the Bobcats get it done.
No. 9 Pelham at No. 8 Ardsley, 2 p.m.
Pick: Pelham, 2-1. I think the fact the Pelicans play in such a strong league could benefit them in the playoffs.
No. 21 Harrison at No. 5 Panas, 3 p.m.
Pick: Panas, 2-1. I like this Harrison team, but I’m going to have to cut its Cinderella story short. Panas squeaks by in a close one.
No. 13 Lourdes at No. 4 Tappan Zee, 2 p.m.
Pick: Tappan Zee, 2-1. Forget the seeds, this is another real good match up. I think the Dutchies finally start pulling out close games.
No. 14 Nyack at No. 3 Saunders, 2 p.m.
Pick: Nyack, 3-2. The Indians benefit from playing in a tough league with the likes of Albertus Magnus and Tappan Zee.
No. 11 Hen Hud at No. 6 Eastchester, 2 p.m.
Pick: Eastchester, 3-1. Forget the Eagles rocky finish to the season. The playoffs mean a fresh start, and Eastchester is ready to go.
No. 10 Pearl River at No. 7 Rye, 3 p.m.
Pick: Rye, 2-1. I think this will be the game of the day. The Garnets end the Pirates bid for repeating as section champions.
No. 18 Beacon at No. 2 Somers, 3 p.m.
Pick: Somers, 3-0. Too much talent in too many positions. Tuskers move on to the quarterfinals.
No. 9 Yonkers Montessori at No. 8 Croton-Harmon, 3 p.m.
Pick: Croton-Harmon, 3-2. The Tigers have no lack of firepower, as they’ve shown at times in the season. I think Croton takes the win at home.
No. 12 Irvington at No. 5 Albertus Magnus, 2 p.m.
Pick: Albertus Magnus, 1-0. This Albertus Magnus team is built for a deep playoff run. The Falcons have spent most of the season grinding out one-goal wins.
No. 13 Blind Brook at No. 4 Valhalla, 4 p.m.
Pick: Valhalla, 4-2. The Vikings are another Class B team that knows how to put the ball in the back of the net.
No. 14 Dobbs Ferry at No. 3 North Salem, 2:30 p.m.
Pick: North Salem, 2-1. Call me crazy, but Dobbs Ferry has shown flashes at some points this season. I’ll still go with North Salem, though.
No. 11 Rye Neck at No. 6 Pleasantville, 2:30 p.m.
Pick: Pleasantville, 2-1. Teams played to a one-goal game during the season (Pleasantville won). I’ll take the Panthers to get the win at home.
No. 10 Westlake at No. 7 Hastings, 3 p.m.
Pick: Hastings, 3-1. Hastings beat the Wildcats 2-0 way back in the beginning of the season. Not that you can put much stock in stuff like that, but I will.
