Yet another week has past us by and once again there is a plethora of fantastic performances to choose from.
Valhalla’s Vanessa Romero accounted for five of the Vikings’ seven goals last week as they went 2-0. Zhane Jacinto and Pamela Sanchez teamed up to form a potent offensive duo for Saunders as the Blue Devils cruised to the Yonkers City Tournament title. After impressive performances in the final by Jacinto (four goals, one assist) and Sanchez (three goal, one assist), the pair shared the tournament’s MVP honor. Melissa Ardizzone had a solid week for Horace Greeley in the Quakers 3-0 week, including a goal and an assist in their 2-0 win against then-undefeated Byram Hills.
One player, though, put up video game type numbers.
Fallon Sheridan, Ardsley—
Fallon Sheridan has had a hat trick in every league game she has played in this season.
Let that statement sink in for a moment.
The junior midfielder entered the week having already posted three-goal games against Hastings and Irvington. The midfielder did not disappoint, continuing the streak against Dobbs Ferry and Sleepy Hollow and putting her team in prime position to win the League II-C title.
In a season that has been full of surprises, Sheridan represents a constant. She has all but guaranteed retaining her title as the league’s player of the year, despite still having to play through the entire league again.
