I will be covering the game between Horace Greeley and Fox Lane today at 4:30 p.m.
These teams play in perhaps the most competitive league in all of Section 1. League III-C is composed of Byram Hills, Fox Lane, Harrison, Horace Greeley, and Rye, all strong teams. Byram Hills is the favorite this year, but after Rye beat them 2-1 on Tuesday, opportunities abound for a team to build momentum.
Hannah Dunn, Olivia Kerester, and Amanda Becker lead the way for Horace Greeley. Katie Burbank and Sydney Reichert will be relied on to excel for Fox Lane.
Horace Greeley defeated Fox Lane 3-0 earlier this season. Kerester scored two goals in the victory.
Prediction: Horace Greeley 2-1
Here are the rest of my predictions:
Nyack at Albertus Magnus
Beacon at Haldane
John Jay at North Salem
Lourdes at Mahopac
John Jay-East Fishkill at Ketcham
Carmel at Arlington
Yorktown at Somers
Brewster at Walter Panas
Hen Hud at Poughkeepsie
Keio at Valhalla
Port Chester at Blind Brook
Ossining at Briarcliff
Westlake at Croton-Harmon
Harrison at Byram Hills
Dobbs Ferry at Sleepy Hollow

You guessed north salem over jj? Jj is unbeaten in their league and already beat north salem 4-0. Have u seen them play?
Hi Fan,
North Salem and John Jay battled to a 3-3 tie. Unfortunately, rain shortened the game, so we couldn’t see who was the better team on this day.
North Salem has a darn good team though. I gave them the edge today based on being the home team and being extra motivated after the earlier 4-0 loss to JJ that you noted. Wasn’t THAT far off.
Best,
James
Who do you think the top team in class A is?
It was not the rain in North Salem, it was the mud. The two school districts border each other but their facilities are worlds apart. The NS girls have been playing in mud since their AYSO days. The girls from JJCR have great skills but they are use to having the ball move and their feet stay put, not the other way around. Also no one should have thought that JJCR would keep Brenna Brown (2 unassisted goals ) scoreless two games in a row.
Spectator- The best team in Class A? Man, that’s tough.
Somers, John Jay, Byram Hills, Pearl River, and Rye are all in that upper tier. Ardsley and TZ are solid. Saunders (9-0) has had an amazing year thus far.
I think Pearl River, Rye (who beat Arlington 3-1 tonight), and John Jay would be at the top of my list, but they are by no means head and shoulders above the rest.
Who do you think is the best team in Class A?
