Here are a few tidbits from my Tuesday visit to Clarkstown South’s practice:
– Clarkstown South head coach Tom Rolston said some freshmen might make the varsity team this year. There are about seven spots on the team he needs to fill. Rolston said he would know for sure by Wednesday night, after tryouts are complete.– The Vikings seem to have a burgeoning rivalry with John Jay-East Fishkill. Clarkstown South lost to them two years ago in the section semifinals, then beat them in the section semifinals last year 3-2 in 2OT. The two teams will meet up on September 24 at Clarkstown South.
